Terms of Service

Welcome to Parichaya (परिचय). By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Account Registration and Username Rules

To use Parichaya, you must register an account with a valid email address and a secure password (minimum 8 characters, not found in known data breaches).

When selecting a username, the following rules apply:

  • Must be between 3 and 30 characters long
  • May contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
  • Cannot start or end with a hyphen
  • Cannot contain consecutive hyphens

Your username is permanent and cannot be changed after registration. It forms part of your public URL (parichaya.page/username or username.parichaya.page).

2. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Parichaya to:

  • Post illegal, harmful, or fraudulent content
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Distribute malware or phishing links
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Violate intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or other accounts
  • Use automated tools to scrape or overload the service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

3. Payment Terms

Parichaya offers paid plans priced in Nepali Rupees (NPR). Payments are accepted through eSewa and Khalti.

The payment process works as follows:

  1. Select your desired plan and duration
  2. Complete payment via eSewa or Khalti using the displayed QR code
  3. Submit your transaction ID and optional screenshot as proof of payment
  4. An administrator manually verifies your payment against the merchant dashboard

Your subscription becomes active only after manual verification by our team. Verification typically occurs within 24 hours of submission. Duplicate transaction IDs will be rejected.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If your payment is rejected during verification, you will be notified with a reason and may resubmit with a valid transaction.

4. Content Ownership and Responsibility

You retain ownership of all content you create and upload to Parichaya, including your bio, links, photos, and website content.

By using the platform, you grant Parichaya a limited license to host, display, and cache your content for the purpose of delivering the service. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

You are solely responsible for the content you publish. Parichaya does not endorse or verify user-generated content and is not liable for any content posted by users.

5. Service Availability and Limitations

Parichaya strives to maintain high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. The platform may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues.

Service limitations include:

  • Free-tier link pages are limited to 5 custom links and 3 themes
  • Paid link pages support up to 500 custom links
  • Profile photos are resized to a maximum of 400×400 pixels
  • File uploads are limited to 5 MB per file (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF)
  • Each user may store up to 10 asset files totaling no more than 50 MB
  • Analytics data is retained for 60 days after subscription deactivation

We reserve the right to modify these limits with reasonable notice to users.

6. Termination and Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time. Account deletion follows this process:

  1. Your account enters a 30-day soft-delete period during which your content is no longer publicly visible
  2. After 30 days, your username is released and becomes available for others to register
  3. Analytics data is retained for 60 days after deactivation before permanent deletion

Parichaya may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms of Service. In cases of severe violations, termination may be immediate without the soft-delete grace period.

If your paid subscription expires, your content enters a 3-day grace period followed by deactivation. Deactivated content is preserved in our database for 30 days, allowing reactivation upon renewal.

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
